The Morning Glory Top

The Morning Glory Top

One of my favourite free sewing patterns is the Sarah Kirsten ‘Morning Glory’ top which you can download here.
This quick little sewing pattern makes a perfect sewing project for beginners and those who just want to pull together a quick slinky top.

The fun thing about the Morning Glory top is that it’s not like a normal PDF pattern that you have to download lots of sheets for, stick together and then cut out.
The pattern basically teaches you exactly how to draft the top to your own body by taking only three or four measurements.
All you need if your ruler, a measuring tape, some fabric and some pins and you are ready to go.

The top is normally worn backwards, but I hacked the pattern and wanted to make it into a wrap top.
All I did was add some basic ties to each end so I could wrap it around my body for a more covered up look.
I have actually worn this for work on a number of occasions and have got some really lovely comments on it.

I think if I make this again I will use a much slinkier fabric and wear it for a lovely light summer day.
If you make this top, make sure you tag me in your post so I can see the finished result.

Thanks for reading,
Love
